Breaking new ground together with the composers – the quartet's method of working applies especially to this CD. All interpretations were developed with the composers Hannes Raffaseder (born 1970), Michael Amann (born 1964), Peter Androsch (born 1963) and Bruno Strobl (born 1949).

The result is both virtuous and multi-faceted: nervous and snappy sound characteristics alternate with breathless, raw motifs and sparse sketches of sound that almost cease to be heard. The CD was awarded the Pasticcio prize in April 2004.
